Today is 15 of September… A year ago one of us, one of the best drivers, left us… A year ago a tragic helicopter’s accident made that Colin McRae, his son and two friends die…This summer i’ve been living in Scotland, in Edinburgh. And the last August’s weekend an amazing event made me get a lot of feelings like everybody who were in Lanark-Banbury. The appoiment started in Lanark (Edinburgh) to meet around 200 Subaru’s in memory of Colin McRae and drive up to Prodrive’s Building in Banbury (London). Going to Banbury around 800 Subaru’s more would added us until get 1000 Subaru’s. Only in Lanark were almost 300 (286) cars only Subaru’s. When they arrived at Banbury were around 1200 Subaru’s.
You could see since the last Subaru Impreza until olders like the most famous Impreza 555. In fact there were two stars there. One the impreza 555 WRC wich drove McRae and the second was the Subaru impreza most powered of ever. Roger Clark’s Subaru (850cv).
But…Despite of all that things the best was that each one, each car, each Subaru’s emblem had writing some especial phrases of Colin like «we’re here for a good time, not a long time».
Some one speak about an accident, other one says murder… Anyway Colin is die and never never will come back again… But going to Banbury from Lanark i was seeing one Colin in each Subaru in each Subaru’s driver in each stick wich said «in memory of McRae». I think that people like McRae who transmit us this kind of feelings, well for the way of drive or the way of to be, never die… Always alive between us.
